Power Interruption GUIDE in the CEPALCO Area Due to NGCP’s Continuing Mindanao-wide Power Supply Curtailments

Relative to the continuing power supply curtailments imposed by the  National Grid Corporation of the Philippines [NGCP] all over Mindanao, CEPALCO has again scheduled rotating brownouts within its service area lasting for about 2 hours and 30 minutes per area.  According to NGCP, the power supply shortage is due to the maintenance outage of NPC’s Pulangi 4 [Unit 1]  and Agus 6 [Unit 1] hydro electric plants; non- operation  of Therma Marine’s two power barges and reduced capabilities of some other NPC hydro plants.

Please find below the load shedding schedule / guide [2 hours & 30 minutes DAILY rotating brownouts] within the CEPALCO service area [none on Saturdays & Sundays]. Again, CEPALCO would like to caution customers that the actual switch off and switch on time may vary from the announced schedule depending on the actual load curtailment levels imposed by NGCP on CEPALCO on a day to day basis.

MAYOR Vicente Emano said porters at the Lumbia airport must be accommodated at the Laguindingan airport.

“Angayan lamang unta nga ang mga kasamtangan nga mga skycaps (porters) dinha sa airport sa Lumbia, mahatagan sa unang higayon nga sila ra gihapon ang mahimong mga porters sa bag-ong airport dinha sa Laguindingan,” he said in a press statement. The mayor explained that the skycaps, who belong to the marginalized sector have been rendering their services at the airport for a long time and it is only right that they be given priority to serve at the new airport when it is operational.“Sa kadugayon na sa ilang pagpangalagad dinha sa Lumbia Airport, kabos nga ana-ay mga pamilya, na-tiguwang na gani, hatagan unta sila sa tawhanong konsiderasyon,” the mayor said. Acenas Appeals For Cooperation Of Businessmen For Facelift Project

VICE MAYOR Caesar Ian Acenas yesterday appealed to businessmen to cooperate with the city in efforts to facelift the city, starting with the Divisoria area.

The vice mayor, who chairs the City Council committee on tourism, invited businessmen operating at Divisoria for the second time to continue discussions on the proposed repainting of buildings and edifices at the city’s downtown.Participants who attended the first meeting agreed to start implementing the repainting project by November 2010.The vice mayor said technical men will be visiting them to discuss their preferred colors. The city will respect their company paint colors, he added but said the whole project must be well planned for an attractive result.According to Vice Mayor Acenas the city is now one of the country’s favorite convention center, tourists and visitors have been coming. He said this week alone three national conventions were held here and during the fiesta celebration the city had about 30,000 guests. “As much as possible the city would like to make it more attractive that is why we need your cooperation,” he added. He said this is one of the priority projects of Mayor Vicente Emano. He recalled that that Divisoria was  once dark and without any life but when the mayor assumed as the chief executive, it became a lively place. The facelift project will be good for the city, in terms of tourism and business, he added.

Savemore Market Opens in Oro

SAVEMORE Market opened its first branch in Cagayan de Oro City Monday at the Market City Agora along the corner of Agora Road and Gaabucayan Extension.

Jojo Tagbo, vice president for operations, said Savemore Market is a neighborhood store that prides itself of great merchandise selection, convenience and excellent customer service.

The P100-million 3,300-square meter Savemore Market is a stand-alone full service supermarket owned and operated by SM Supermalls. It is its 35th branch in the country.

“Savemore is SM’s way of bringing in the SM shopping experience nearer to where our shoppers live and work. It is much smaller compared to SM but the merchandise list is complete,” Tagbo said.

He said Savemore Market is a store extension of the house, a one-stop air-conditioned store that brings closer to where their costumers live and work.

“Instead of customers having to go to the mall, SM has now become a part of their neighborhood,” Tagbo added.

He said travelers who frequent the nearby Agora Bus Terminal will find Savemore Market in the city as a convenient stop-over for their instant supermarket and last-minute pasalubong needs with its wide selection of grocery items including high quality yet affordable SM bonus products, fresh sections, budget friendly meals and food stalls.

As a one-stop-shop, Savemore Market also offers ATM, bills payment, remittance, pharmacy and money exchange services.

“SM Supermarket and SM Hypermarkets are destinations that our customers have to plan to go to. Savemore Market, on the other hand, being part of the neighborhood, creates convenience for impulse purchases or last-minute needs,” Tagbo said.

He added that Savemore Market plans to open two other branches in the city next year, one of which is located in Capistrano St., and will be opening 41 more stores nationwide.

“We at Savemore are committed to provide and cater to the needs of everyone with the cool and complete shopping experience,” Tagbo said.

Monday’s opening was attended by Mayor Vicente Y. Emano and other local entrepreneurs and suppliers of SM.
